Beslut angående Idépeng September 2016.
Mötesplats Stenebys uppdrag är att främja samarbete och samverkan mellan utbildning, forskning, näringsliv, offentliga aktörer och civilsamhälle. Detta i syfte att stärka skolans kärnverksamhet samt bidra till förstärkt positiv utveckling av Dalsland.
Idépeng är ett stipendium som kan sökas av studenter, alumner eller anställda på Steneby som har en idé, ett projekt, en utställning, produktutveckling eller något annat där det sker samverkan med aktörer från minst tre av kategorierna; utbildning, forskning, näringsliv, offentliga aktörer och civilsamhälle. Idén ska stärka Steneby och bidra till stärkt positiv utveckling av Dalsland.
Vi önskar alla lycka till med sina idéer och vi ser fram emot att följa utvecklingen.

STENEBY CHRISTMAS MARKET

In December 2015 the first edition of the Steneby Christmas Market took place in Galleri Långbron. With over 150 visitors and a revenue of almost 10.000 SEK, it has proven to be a good way to promote our school. Last year’s market, however, should be looked upon as a trial version of something that, hopefully, will become an annual event. The location might not have been perfect for such a thing and the promotion could have been better.
Therefore, we propose to organise the second, improved edition of the Steneby Christmas Market. Not in Galleri Långbron anymore, but in the entrance hall of Bengtsfors Bibliotek/Konsthall instead. From the late autumn onwards, Christmas markets pop up everywhere in Sweden, but Bengtsfors area doesn’t really seem to have an annual event like this yet. Other reasons for moving the market to this new location is the fact Bengtsfors Kommun is supporting our school in many ways, so this market can be seen as a big thanks for all the support. Also, this place is more central and easier accessible than Långbron. A well organisedand professional promotion of the event, together with its new location will attract more visitors and increase the sales.

Finns det något som så tydligt kommunicerar glädje, fantasi och frihet som en trädkoja – att få vara barn igen. Att få tillgång till en plats du tidigare inte hade tillgång till för att ta en kaffe, läsa en bok, spendera natten eller bara vara.
Projekt Wind shack går ut på att i samarbete med *DANO, öka sjösystemets attraktivitet genom att kunna erbjuda lägerplatser med unika vindskydd. Avsikten är att frångå det traditionella vindskyddet och ge gästen i sjösystemet en upplevelse utöver det vanliga både genom det nya vindskyddets placering och dess utformning. Samtidigt som det inte görs avkall på grundvärdena i att övernatta i ett av sjösystemets vindskydd – Naturnära upplevelse i fantastisk natur.

Many are the skills that we Steneby students have. Some of them are developing through education, and some others are strongly consolidated. Nowadays people have found a great alley and support on the internet, promoting, exhibiting or even selling their work to a bigger audience. As designers, artists and craftsmen it is our responsibility to be aware of how to get the benefit of being part of this system, and opportunity to start this practice while being still at school and make it part of our learning for the future.
This project aims to build the platform for individuals/students at Steneby to start their practices and bringing in another channel to display their creations, getting to know better what their potential customers want, and last but not least, getting an extra income in a way that won’t interfer with their studies.
